A little about Chris Vardy Chris Vardy is a ‘townie’ from Freshwater Road. His dad, William, who passed away in 1972, was a carpenter who worked for many years in a well known carpenter shop on Merrymeeting Road. Chris attended MacPherson Academy, St. Andrew’s Elementary and then on to Prince of Wales. His world of work began at Sobeys in 1967. From there he joined George G. R. Parsons in 1976 and finally settled into a career of real estate which commenced in 1983. Chris has taken supplementary courses at Memorial University pertaining to Real Estate Law, Property Law and Contract Law. He has also taken part as a member of Ethics and various other internal committees with the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Realtors. As well, Chris is an accredited facilitator for Richard Robbins International Real Estate training programs. Some volunteer activities where Chris has contributed his time are: The Canadian Cancer Society, United Church of Canada training programs and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Chris was also a founding member of the first Cabot Habitat for Humanity in the province. Since 1983 Chris has been a member of Rotary International and is past president of the Rotary Club Waterford Valley. Today Chris can be found in his leisure time on a golf course, playing tennis, gardening, woodworking, looking at antique cars, or just enjoying family time. Chris lives with his wife, Mary Crotty, in St. John’s and between them they have four children and eleven grandchildren.
